ABOUT PROJECT
The ATX + EGYPT Fashion Exchange Program blossomed out of a partnership that began in 2019 between the City of Austin Economic Development Department and the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.
Mindful Media covered this stage of the multiphase initiative, which focused on fashion business management and entrepreneurship for a select group of American and Egyptian designers.

ABOUT PROJECT
The program enables participants to explore different aspects of the creative ecosystem, including fashion, circular economy, technology and food sectors, supports the development and global expansion of Austin-based fashion businesses and increases the exposure of emerging Egyptian fashion brands to the Austin and United States community.
Egyptian designers traveled to Austin for the city’s annual Austin Fashion Week, which saw continued collaborations between the embassy as well as partnerships with Macy’s, La Reina, the Austin Community College Fashion Incubator and Fashion by Texas.
